News on the Rialto

Bill Barclay has just returned from his second Fox Foundation residency in Colchester, England, where he performed in DEPOT as an actor and conductor.

Allyn Burrows appears in Conor McPherson's The Seafarer at Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell until November 11th. 

Sandra Cohen, ASP's resident graphic designer, will have paintings featured in the MKL Gallery show "Strata," from October 14th through November 15th.  The opening reception will be October 22nd from 6 - 8 p.m.  MKL is located at 99 Beacon St. in Somerville.

John Kuntz currently appears on Harold Pinter's The Caretaker with The Nora Stage.  John's original solo piece Salt Girl will be directed by David Gammons, opening November 5th at Boston Playwrights' Theatre.  Alongside Ben Evett, John will help direct The Magic Flute for the Boston Conservatory in November. Doug Lockwood directs Machinal by Sophie Treadwell at Midway Studios November 19th through 22nd. Time and ticket info can be found at www.bostonconservatory.edu.

Marya Lowry returns to Toronto, CA in December for continued rehearsal and development of a new theatre piece to premiere at the Luminato Festival of Arts and Creativity in June 2010.

Sarah Newhouse will appear as Emilie du Chatelet, 18th c. French scientist, in the Lyric Stage Company's production of Legacy of Light, a new play directed by Lois Roach, in February/March 2010.

Bobbie Steinbach will be in Detroit for a month at Michigan Opera Theatre, playing Madame Armfeldt in A Little Night Music, with Leslie Uggams. There she will also teach a class at Mosaic Youth Theatre and perform spoken word poetry at Echoverse Poetry & Slam Series.  In December Bobbie will appear in Christmas Revels at the Saunders Theatre, directed by Revels Artistic Director and ASP favorite Paddy Swanson.

Adele Nadine Traub will stage manage John Kuntz's solo piece The Salt Girl, written by and starring John, at Boston Playwrights' Theatre.  The piece will be directed by David Gammons.

Michael Forden Walker will appear in Tru Grace: Holiday Memoirs, directed by Wes Savick, with Underground Railway at Central Square Theatre November 19th - December 27th.  He will appear as Cassio in ASP's Othello, opening in March 2010.

Robert Walsh just closed the New England premiere of Sins of the Mother by Israel Horovitz at Gloucester Stage. Robert is directing Speed-the-Plow for New Repertory Theatre, opening October 19th.   He is also staging fights for Twelfth Night at Boston College, with Scott Cummings directing.  Robert will appear in ASP's A Midsummer Night's Dream in the role of Bottom.
