Shakespeare Summer Teacher Institute, in partnership with Salem State University
August 7 – 11, 2023
9 am – 5 pm daily
Salem State University Campus
All the school’s a stage, and you can teach your students to be players! Learn to bring text off the page and into the bodies and hearts of your students through this immersive approach to teaching Shakespeare.
The Taming of the Shrew, one of the Bard’s most fascinating and problematic plays, will serve as our primary text as we explore how to help students make deep connections to Shakespeare’s words and themes, elevate social justice conversations while teaching Shakespeare, and create actionable lessons connected to state/national standards. Come away re-energized, with new tools and activities for your classroom!
