Yes, you read that right: funny notes from rehearsals

When you work in theater, sometimes you overhear or read amusing things that you know do not come up elsewhere. Putting a show together is serious business, but occasionally we can’t help laughing at ourselves!

Here are some examples from rehearsal reports for our upcoming A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

  • “The bartender downstairs gave us a couple of nice red noses. They will need elastic.”
  • “Is there any chance we could get a second set of the teeth we’re using for the ass?”
  • “Can we add a bracelet of hair? (yeah you read that right)”
  • “Understanding that it is not anatomically correct, we’d like to move the spider’s face. Instead of adding a band to hold the spider’s butt to the operator’s arm, can we put the face on the butt?”
  • “Puck shoes have a loose sole. They will need a good shoe-gooing.”
  • “Could someone jump up and bear hug it and slide down?”
  • “Do the fairies have pockets?”
